How do I ensure that the clawfeet sit flush on my bathtub?

When you are placing the clawfeet to attach to the bathtub, ensure that the metal plate sits snug with the bolts on the bathtub prior to tightening any bolts. Doing so will ensure that the clawfeet are positioned correctly and functioning.
